The feeling of scuba diving is great. You are deep down under water and you see beautiful fish around you.

The preparation

The preparation is very important when you go diving. When you are several metres below the surface there is a large pressure on your body and brain. It is very important to check your equipment before you go into the water. You have to check if there is enough oxygen in your tank. And it is very important to check the pressure of the tank. You are required to carry a knife with you when you dive, so make sure you have it on you.

The sensation

The sensation of being several metres below the surface is hard to describe. There are so many beautiful fish and plants around and it is breathtaking. I'm always very at ease in the water. It is relaxing. You can just look around and enjoy everything you see. I always feel one with the animals in the underwater world. They come so close that you can almost touch them. Some of the fish even allow you to touch them, which I quite enjoy.

The fish

One of the greatest fish is the parrot fish. This fish is round around 50 centimetres long and has many colours. It is like looking at an aquarium when you run into this fish. The colours are bright and the best thing about it that it isn't afraid of humans. You can really admire it because it gets very close.

The best thing

I saw a giant turtle on our trip through Australia, and it was the best thing I've ever seen. We stayed there for four days on a boat in the Great Barrier Reef. I was diving there when suddenly a shadow passed over me. At first it scared me, but then I saw this giant turtle swimming over me. I was able to stay with him and followed him for around 100 metres. It was huge. I never saw anything like it and I will never forget it.
